Bio

Christine Lyon is a mixed-media visual artist from Los Angeles, California, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, where she serves as Professor of Painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her teaching and studio practice share a focus on material experimentation, iterative process, and critical engagement. Working across painting, printmaking, collage, and sculpture, she examines the conventions that structure depictions of the figure and the cultural frameworks that sustain them.

Christine began her career in scenic painting and illustration before moving into fine arts and education. Her work has been featured in live and filmed productions as well as exhibitions, publications, and collections across San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Montreal, Brooklyn, and New York City.
